This NASA-approved Moon Globe is manufactured in the USA by Replogle, one of the most respected names in globes for more than a half century. In addition to the incredibly detailed topography and intricately labeled and marked details, this globe contains marked locations of the first US and Russian unmanned landing as well as the historic Apollo 11 landing that put the first man on the moon. There is magnificent detail of the dark side of the moon, and of course the globe indicates which side is visible from Earth. The scale is 1" = 180 miles, and the diameter is 12 inches. The globe comes with a booklet entitled "The Story of the Moon", which provides clear information on lunar eclipses and solar eclipses, the moon's atmosphere and phases, the moon's effect on Earth's tides, and what we hope to learn from our exploration of the moon.
